County Senior CItizen School Property Tax Credit
If you will be 65 years of age on May 1, 2008 and have been a fulltime resident of your Sussex County property for the preceding 6 months, and have paid your property taxes in full for the previous years, you are eligible for a reduction in the amount of school taxes you pay . You may call 302-855-7761 or 302-855-7767 and request an application, which you will need to sign, and return with proof of age. This must be returned by September 1, 2008 to obtain the credit for this year. Below is a link to the Sussex County web site which offers a variety of interesting information, including data on your property taxes. Click in the left hand column on TAX INFORMATION to begin your search. You may search by name or parcel number. If you live in Northampton or Half Moon Bay, you parcel number is 134-17-39.03 followed by your Clearwater unit number.
